OUR STORY

30 years ago, we started as a Riding School and Livery yard, boasting 50 horses and ponies. Following many request to camp on our beautiful site, among the horses and livestock, we decided at the beginning of the year to diversify into camping. A slight delay with the Covid 19 pandemic!

We choose to add our own Safari "Pod" Tents along with regular pitches. This gives an opportunity for people to experience camping without the hassle of putting up a tent!

THE FARM

Situated under the Salisbury Chalk hills, Long River Farm, has been home to many animals  during its existence, the chalk downs make for perfect grazing, with a diverse and  rare plant life. The area of hills known as White Scar Hangings is an area of scientific interest, due to the wild flowers and rare wildlife. Along side the hangings, we have several acres of woodlands, mainly impressive beech trees and hazel.

The hazel is collected to make Thatching Spars.

The farm also has a variety of fenced paddocks, used for the Horses, Ponies, Goats, Sheep and Pigs, Chickens are free roaming!

This year we have upgraded the farm to accommodate camping.

We have flushing toilets, showers and a chemical toilet disposal area.

Reception with shop and Hand made Marshfiled Ice Cream, free WIFI available in the reception area.

Bike rental to follow.

Nice area to go camping. Have big showers, and clean toilets. Even have like a living room area with lots of space and games where we stayed when it was raining a lot. It is a family business and all of them are really friendly and helpful. All the animals are really well kept and are sociable with the kids. We went for a walk around and the views are amazing. Highly recommended and definitely will come back soon. We had such a great time even with the heavy rain. Daniela P.

This is an absolutely beautiful location for a camping trip. We pitched our tent so we had a view down the valley with hills either side to watch the sun come up and then set in the evening. There is so much space so you can really feel you've got away from it all, and there is plenty of room for the kids to have a game of football too. Families will love the pigs, sheep and of course horses around the centre, and the shower and toilet block is absolutely spotless. I particularly liked the generous size of the shower cubicles as it makes life so much easier with little ones.
The owners are incredibly welcoming and my daughters all commented on how friendly they were. An absolutely brilliant stay! Anna W
